Conversions and the demolition of an old building are set to usher in new housing and a showroom in east Bicester.
On Thursday, 18 May, Cherwell District Council’s planning committee approved outline planning permission for a scheme which would see the provision of ten dwellings and a commercial unit.
The application site sits on the junction of Churchill and Wedgewood roads and is currently occupied by two buildings. One of these will be replaced and the other converted.
The building facing Churchill Road currently houses offices, showrooms, and storage space. It is proposed for conversion to provide five two-bed houses and two one-bed flats.
The building with frontage onto Wedgewood Road is currently a light industrial and storage unit, and is proposed to be demolished to allow for the construction of a new showroom unit at ground floor level, with three two-bed flats above.
The details of the scheme, such as layout, building design and landscaping, would be subject to an application for full permission.
